Though the migration of Syro-Malabar
Catholics to the Capital City of India
began from early fifties after the
independence and was augmented by late
seventies, the pastoral care of the
Syro-Malabar faithful in the
Archdiocese of Delhi was formally
begun only in the year 1991.
Syro-Malabar
Convention has become
a great event in the
history of Delhi Syro-Malabar
Mission. Beginning
from 1998, it has been
the biggest annual
event of the Syro-Malabar
faithful in Delhi.
The Mission has
several social service
institutions and
social work programmes
spread in the states
of Delhi, Haryana and
UP. For the
effectiveness of
social service
activities there are
three registered
social service
organisations
functioning under the
Mission.
Delhi
Syro-Malabar Youth
Movement is a
movement of the
Catholic Youngsters of Delhi Mission. It
also nurtures the
talents of the youth
and trains them for
effective social
commitment.
