Fr. Sebastian Vadakkumpadan
started this mass center
officially in
early nineties. (There had
been Syro Malabar Holy Mass in
this Church from eighties) Fr. Shaji
Poothura from the diocese of
Kottayam was the priest in
charge in the beginning. He
organized the feast of St.
Thomas in the centre for the
first time. It continues till
now. After him Fr. Francis
Kavalippadan was appointed
priest in charge for a short
time. Fr. Jose Cholikkara
succeeded him. After him Fr.
Tom Mullenchira was appointed
priest in charge by the
Archbishop of Delhi in July
2003. For all the common
programmes like the feast of
St. Thomas the community joins
with the mass centre at Gautam
Nagar and they are conducted
at Fr. Agnel School. Fr. Reju
Kannampuzha succeeded Fr.Tom
and he rendered his service
for six months. On 1 August
2007
Fr. Shijo Konuparamban took charge of the
mass centers of Defence Colony
and Gautam Nagar. Fr Stephen
Palatty is the present parish
priest from March 2010. From
the whole hearted cooperation
of the community members,
Ernakulam Archdiocese and
Delhites Syro Malabar Mission
the community bought a
new Priest's Residence at 68
B, Gautam Nagar and blessed on
11th May 2011.
