Sanjopuram is the project area
of St. Joseph’s Service
Society where Fr. Sebastian
Vadakumpadan started the
Children’s Village in 1996.
Religious Houses were
constructed, a school and
hospital were established and
children were accommodated.
The members of this parish are
those who are engaged in the
project and its beneficiaries.
Fr. Sebastian began
celebrating mass at Sanjopuram
from April 1998 onwards. In
2003 Sanjopuram was raised to
a personal parish and Fr.
Sebastian was appointed the
first Vicar. As Fr. Sebastian
returned to Kerala Fr. Baiju
Edassery was appointed Vicar
in December 2004. On 5 March
2006, Fr. Sebastian Theckanath
took charge of the parish. On
12 February 2008, Fr Jose
Seejo Kalapurackal was
appointed as the parish priest
in place of Fr. Sebastian. He
was transferred and on 27th
June 2009 Fr Varghese
Chackungal entrusted to be the
Priest in Charge. On March
2011 Fr Varghese Moonjely was
appointed as Parish Priest.
