There had been occasional Syro-Malabar
Mass celebrated in Pushp Vihar
from 1985 onwards. However it
was from 1992 onwards that
regular mass was celebrated on
Sundays and obligatory days.
Rev. Fr. Benny Parekkattil,
Fr. Baiju Vadakumchery, Fr.
Benny Maranparampil and Fr.
Martin Mampilly were the
pioneers of this mass centre.
Archbishop Vincent
Concessao of Delhi declared it
a personal parish on July 20,
2003 and Fr. Tomy Kandathil
was appointed the first parish
priest of this Holy Family
parish, which includes both
Pushp Vihar and Hauz Khas mass
centres. From March 2005,
onwards, the parish got the
services of Fr. Reju
Kannampuzha, who was recently
appointed as the assistant
priest of Holy Family Church,
Pushp Vihar, Hauz Khas. On 25
February 2007, Fr. Varghese
Moonjely took charge of the
parish. There
are 21 family units actively
involved in the parish
activities. Regular catechism
classes are going on for all
the classes of students.
