Mass Centre at Pahar Ganj was
organised by Fr. Ambatt CMI in
1994. Fr. Mani Giles CMI (late
Bishop of Mananthavady) and
Fr. Shepherd CMI served the
community in the beginning.
Then the centre was entrusted
to the Vincentian Fathers. Fr.
Sebastian Kalleth and Fr.
Joseph Keezhedam served the
community from 1999 to 2002.
Fr. Sebastian Vadakumpadan
took over from them and
celebrated the Syro-Malabar
mass until he returned to
Kerala. Fr. Jose Edassery was
appointed in charge in
December 2004. From August 1,
2005 Fr. Baiju Edassery has
been appointed in charge of
the mass centre in the place
of Fr. Jose. On 17 February
2008, Fr. Varghese Palatty was
appointed as the
priest-in-charge of the
community.From 1994 the community
celebrates the feast of St.
Joseph on Sunday after March
19. Rosary devotion is
celebrated solemnly for 10
days in the month of October.
The feast of St. Thomas is
another occasion to gather the
community together. In the
beginning CMC Sisters from
Rajinder Nagar and later on
FCC Sisters from Patel Nagar
have been assisting the
community. Rev. Sisters used
to visit the houses of the
members. Right now SABS
sisters from Rajinder Nagar
assist the mass centre in a
remarkable way.
