Syro-Malabar mass was started
in Laxmi Nagar in 1997 by the
constant efforts of the former
Chaplain Fr. Sebastian
Vadakumpadan. Following Fr.
Sebastian, Fr. Joshy
Vezhaparambil, Fr. Justin
Puthussery, Fr. Baiju
Vadakumchery, Fr. Jetto
Thottungal and Fr. Jose
Cholikkara served the
community. Fr. Kuruvila
Marottickal was appointed in
charge in 2003 and he guided
the community until Fr. Joby
Padayattil took over from him
in February 2005 as Fr.
Kuruvila was transferred to
Okhla. The community consists
mostly of bachelors and some
settled families. On 1 August
2007, Bl. Kunjachan Syro-Malabar
Church was established and Fr.
Joseph Kalathumkal MST was
appointed as its first parish
priest.
