CHAPTER: 6
THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST IN THE FULLNESS OF TIME
-
What is the importance of
the Holy Spirit in the life of
Mother Mary?
Mary is the masterwork of the
mission of the Son and the
Spirit in the fullness of
time. For the first time in
the plan of salvation, the
father found the
dwelling-place in Mary, where
his Son and his Spirit could
dwell among men.
-
How did the Holy Spirit
fulfil the mission of the
Father through Mary?
In Mary, the Holy Spirit
fulfils the plan of the
Father’s loving goodness. With
and through the Holy Spirit,
the Virgin conceives and gives
birth to the Son of God. By
the Holy Spirit’s power and
her faith, her virginity
became uniquely fruitful. (Cf.
Lk; 1:26-38; Rom; 4:18-21;
Gal; 4:26-28)
-
How does the Holy Spirit
manifest Jesus through Mary?
In Mary, the Holy Spirit
manifests the Son of the
Father as the Son of the
Virgin. Filled with the Holy
Spirit she makes the Word
visible in the form of his
flesh.
-
What does the Holy Spirit
give to men through Mary?
Through Mary, the Holy Spirit
begins to bring men, the
objects of God’s merciful
love, and brings him into
communion with Christ. And the
humble are always the first to
accept him.
-
How and when did Jesus
reveal the Holy Spirit?
Jesus revealed the Holy Spirit
fully, only after he himself
had been glorified through his
Death and Resurrection. To his
disciples he speaks openly of
the spirit in connection with
prayers (Cf. Lk; 11:13). And
with the witness they will
have to bear. (Cf. Mt; 10;
19-20)
-
By whom and when will the
Holy Spirit be given to us?
The Spirit of truth, the
Paraclete, will be given by
the Father in answer to Jesus’
prayer; he will be sent by the
Father in Jesus’ name; and
Jesus will send him from the
Father’s side.
-
What are the things that
the Holy Spirit will teach us
when he comes?
The Holy Spirit will come and
we shall know him; he will be
with us for ever; he will
remain with us and teach us
many things. The Spirit will
remind us of all that Christ
said to us and will help us to
bear witness to him. The Holy
Spirit will lead us into all
truth and will glorify Christ.
He will teach us about sin,
righteousness and judgment.
