Dear Rev. Fathers/Sisters/Teachers,

Greetings from Delhi Syro-Malabar Catechetical office.

I want to remind you few points which were suggested during the Zonal Teachers Meting and at the meeting of Catechetical Commission held on 8th October, 2005.

1. Half yearly examinations will on November 13th.

2. Question Papers will be provided to the Centers before November 10th.

3. Syllabus will be as per our diary and the general questions will be from the quiz of holy Eucharist Nos. I &II (pages 15 to 17) and landmarks in the history of syro-malabar church on page 21. General questions will be asked from classes V onwards.

4. The examination to students of Classes I & II will be objective type written. The model question papers are attached.

5. Key-notes to the teachers will be provided together with the question papers.

6. Two students of each class who score the highest marks in both the examinations will be eligible for appearing in the scholarship examination at the centre.

7. The list of students who scored the highest marks in the 2004-2005 annual examination conducted at the Central level is enclosed. Prizes for the same will be distributed on 30th October during the Syro-Malabar Convention.

8. The prizes for the teachers of students who got first prize will also be given on teachers seminar day (Nov. 1st ).

9. As suggested by many, a two hour class will be conducted for the teachers regarding the syllabus of IX & X on 23rd October from 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. at 88/A Sarai Juliana. (Opp. “Escort Hospital Staff Gate)

10. A one day compulsory training for teachers will be conducted on 1st November at S.V.D. House, Okhla between 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. The resource person will be Rev. Dr. Jose Pathiyedath and team, Catechetical Commission Secretary - Syro-Malabar Bishop’s Synod.

11. The seminar and get-together which was decided to conduct on Oct. 12th has been postponed to 26th January 2006 (11.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.). Details will be given later.

12. It is desirable to train the catechism children to say “Esho Mishihakku Stuthiyairikkate” in Malayalam or “Praise the Lord“ in English rather than say good morning to the sisters and priests when they enter the class.

14. Please send back the duly filled in Teachers Profile and Centers Profile supplied during the zonal meeting. For sending question papers reporting students strength is essential.

15. To communicate with the Head Master of each centre, please send the address and phone number of the respective individuals.

16. Try to send the correspondence through the local courier for speedy delivery.
